Home buying is a big pain in the butt. Nearly 3 months after having our offer accepted on this house we want really really bad we are still waiting to find out if we are getting it. Most everything has gone very smooth, but the things that haven't are taking FOREVER.
Everything is fine but one little issue. The septic. we don't know what's up with it. We had a home inspection, we had an appraisal. The appraiser was under the assumption that the county had to perform the inspection on the septic so that's what the loan is hinging on. The county says, they can't do it right now. So the underwriter for our loan says that's not gonna work and we can't have someone approved by the county do it independently. Our realtor knew that was wrong, contacted the county, and now someone from the county is writing a letter to our underwriter explaining that it is not required by the county. yeesh!
I guess now we just sit and wait with our fingers crossed and hope that the underwriter doesn't take too long to respond. I'm assuming everything will be fine and they will give us the go ahead and we'll be able to have the septic inspected. (if it doesn't pass that'll open another can of worms that I don't even want to think about right now). Did I mention the underwriter is in another state? and not even one close to our's. I guess that's what we get for going with a major bank.
One good thing is that the seller asked for a 2 week extension. That's good for us because this is taking so long, a little extra time for us won't hurt and lifts a little pressure off of our backs.
I hope that made sense. My head is spinning right now.

Goodbye Summer
I've been looking forward to fall but I'd like to share a bit of our past summer. We had a ton of fun. Here are just a few of the things that we were able to enjoy over the summer.
As usual, there was a lot of exploring.
This place is just gorgeous.
We do quite a bit of bike riding.....
and we love to go fishing.
Gotta see fireworks on the Fourth of July. (It was nearly rained out too. Most people left right before they started)
We processed some natural clay after digging it up from the creek bed. That was time consuming, messy, hard work but I can't wait to make something with the clay we have now.
We spent some days at the lake fishing and taking in the incredible view.....
and playing in the water.
I'm not sure what that little walk is but it makes me laugh. (and before someone thinks that my son was playing near the water alone, Daddy was right there with him just out of frame.)
Those were just a few of the wonderful memories I will always have and cherish.

I'm back
After a much needed nudge and a bit of encouragement form Cheyenne @ Little Prairie Baby, I've decided to start this blog back up.
It's not my first blog and I abandoned it not long after starting it because I always felt like I didn't have much to talk about. I don't want to bore anyone gushing over my only child who I love more than anyone or anything in this world or talk about how I did 3 loads of laundry today. (I also had a stalker in real life who made me timid to post anything personal but that's a whole different story that I'm not touching)
The first blog I was pretty good at sticking to but after someone who I loved very much died, that one became really depressing. It started to become sort of a journal recording me losing it and breaking down. To me reading it over was like watching a train wreck.
This was not my last blog either. Currently I run Giveaway Alley which lists giveaways and hosts a few as well. (I actually update that one consistently. Hurray!)
Blogging is a great outlet and I am missing it. Sometimes I'm full if ideas and have things to say, but no way of saying it. I have been mulling it over, and rather than combine my personal life with my giveaway blog, I'm just going to try and stick to this one when it comes to all things me.
Thank you Cheyenne. That little push was just what I needed.
Now back to work on cleaning up this blog, start what I never really started, and sharing bits of my life to whoever wants to hear it. I've already deleted a bunch of posts. I don't think anyone read them anyway so no harm done. lol.
