Goodbye Summer

I've been looking forward to fall but I'd like to share a bit of our past summer. We had a ton of fun. Here are just a few of the things that we were able to enjoy over the summer.

As usual, there was a lot of exploring.
This place is just gorgeous.

We do quite a bit of bike riding.....

and we love to go fishing.

Our son went to his very first concert to see one of his favorite bands (yes Slayer) and got his very first autograph.

Gotta see fireworks on the Fourth of July. (It was nearly rained out too. Most people left right before they started)

We processed some natural clay after digging it up from the creek bed.  That was time consuming, messy, hard work but I can't wait to make something with the clay we have now.

We spent some days at the lake fishing and taking in the incredible view.....

and playing in the water.

I'm not sure what that little walk is but it makes me laugh. (and before someone thinks that my son was playing near the water alone, Daddy was right there with him just out of frame.)

Those were just a few of the wonderful memories I will always have and cherish.

I'm back

After a much needed nudge and a bit of encouragement form Cheyenne @ Little Prairie Baby, I've decided to start this blog back up.
It's not my first blog and I abandoned it not long after starting it because I always felt like I didn't have much to talk about.  I don't want to bore anyone gushing over my only child who I love more than anyone or anything in this world or talk about how I did 3 loads of laundry today. (I also had a stalker in real life who made me timid to post anything personal but that's a whole different story that I'm not touching)
The first blog I was pretty good at sticking to but after someone who I loved very much died, that one became really depressing. It started to become sort of a journal recording me losing it and breaking down. To me reading it over was like watching a train wreck.
This was not my last blog either. Currently I run Giveaway Alley which lists giveaways and hosts a few as well. (I actually update that one consistently. Hurray!)
Blogging is a great outlet and I am missing it. Sometimes I'm full if ideas and have things to say, but no way of saying it. I have been mulling it over, and rather than combine my personal life with my giveaway blog, I'm just going to try and stick to this one when it comes to all things me.

Thank you Cheyenne. That little push was just what I needed.

Now back to work on cleaning up this blog, start what I never really started, and sharing bits of my life to whoever wants to hear it. I've already deleted a bunch of posts.  I don't think anyone read them anyway so no harm done. lol.

Found this interesting

Among a very large pile of logs for firewood there was part of a very large maple tree. I'm not sure how big it was, but it was big. A cross section of it revealed the scars from many many years of maple tapping.

Not so YAY :(

It's been over a month since I've posted on here but last time it was about our offer being accepted on a house. Well, it didn't work out and we've backed out of the contract.  I am still kind of mad. We backed out because the inspection did not go well. Basically what you couldn't see was all wrong. The plumbing, some structural issues and some other really costly things to replace.
I'm not angry that we didn't get the house but I am quite irritated all the crap we went through just to not get it. I think we ran into almost any problem that you can (including problems that people don't normally run into), everything was delayed several times and it was just a huge pain in the ass. Excluding the inspection, all of the issues were other people dragging their asses, being dishonest, or just sucking in general. I am happy though that we learned alot, avoided getting ripped off by a few different people and the next one should go a little smoother.......it better.
